Little Red Schoolhouse is a wonderful place to work, and highly rewarding. Our teachers love the fast-paced and creative elements of the job, and end up working here for years. It’s like a little family here!
Pay is dependant on experience and education, and after 6 months benefits kick in. The biggest benefit is paid holidays- anytime the school is closed you get paid even though you’re not working! This amounts to at least 2 weeks of paid vacation per year. Help with health insurance and financing season passes are among the other benefits of the job. It is also one of the few year round full time job opportunities in this seasonal tourist-based town.There is always an opportunity for raises and Jessica rewards hard work with lots of perks.
You must be Early Childhood Teacher certified to get a Lead Teacher job, or be motivated to obtain this certification within the 1st 6 months of employment. This entails having a college degree and taking ECE 101 plus any other Early Childhood course of your choice. If you have a degree in Elementary Education or Early Childhood education and have experience in the field, you are already certified! Each teacher is required to complete 15 hours per year of continuing education in the field, which is a great way to keep ahead of current trends in Early Childhood Education.
