Meet our Teachers

Miss Amanda

I have been a member of the Little Red Team since 2012. I moved to Crested Butte in 2010 to teach skiing, after guiding and teaching kayaking for seven years on beautiful Lake Superior in the great Northwood’s of Wisconsin, followed by a season as a kayak guide in Portland, Oregon. But, since my first visit to Crested Butte in 2005, I was hooked and knew that my path would lead back to this very special mountain town. I have a degree in Outdoor Education emphasis in Therapy from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin and have always enjoyed working with and teaching children of all ages. I am delighted to be working with a variety of ages here at Little Red, they are all such a joy to be around. I look forward to coming to work each day to see what surprises the day holds for me and what your child will say or do next to make me smile!

Hi! My name is Chloe Bowman and kids are my passion. I’m originally from Colorado Springs and I’ve been working with children over that past 5 years both privately and as a preschool teacher , and I adore it! Especially after moving to this valley and spending three years as a teachers’ aide in Gunnison, I realized that working with kids is both the most challenging and rewarding job any individual can embark on and I truly thrive at supporting and pursuing a role in the future of these children’s lives!

Miss Leah

My love for working with children started when I got a job as a camp counselor at Star Lake Camp in Northern Minnesota. I stuck with it and eventually managed the camp for three summers. I eventually moved out to Gunnison, CO to get an Outdoor Education degree. During that time, I ran the after school program for Gunnison Parks and Rec, and also worked as a teacher at Season’s Schoolhouse. When I graduated from Western, I went home for a while, and worked as a Paraprofessional at a public preschool. Of all the places I have lived, this valley has always felt like my true home. I am so excited to be back with this community teaching at Little Red Schoolhouse!

Hi, everyone!  My name is Leah Wrisley and I am so excited to be a part of the Little Red team in teaching and caring for little ones.  I grew up in Crested Butte and, after several years away, have returned to the valley with my husband Anthony and our son Niko, who currently attends Little Red.  I have always been passionate about education and have been working with kids of all ages and in many capacities since I was in high school.  I received a degree in Elementary Education from Colorado                                                 Mesa University in May 2018 and am excited to begin my first job as a lead teacher!

Hi friends! I’m a born and raised Crested Butte native continuing to live and love the Gunnison Valley. I graduated from the Crested Butte Community School in 2012 and attended Western State Colorado University earning a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and Environmental Science in 2016. I love to ski, hike, bike and swim all across the valley and state of Colorado. Very excited to be part of the Teeny and Little Red Schoolhouse team and provide excellent and loving care to your little ones!

I have been in the Gunnison Valley and a community member since 2009. I worked with children at the nursery for CBMR and was a nanny for a local family for almost four years! I come from a large family where everyone took turns taking care of the children. I also taught two and three year olds swimming lessons before I jetted off to college. I am thrilled to be part of Little Red Schoolhouse!

Hi, I’m Emily Bouchard. I moved here from Maine back in 2010 with my husband never having been to Crested Butte before. We packed up what we could, sold the rest and drove out west to start a new chapter! Honestly, we’ve never looked back or thought about moving anywhere else. This place offers so much from the people here to what the area has to offer. We’ve made a life here and had two kids, Zoe (who attends CBES) and Ronan (who attends Teeny Red). I graduated with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with a minor in Elementary Education and a minor in Child and Adolescent Health from The University of Maine Farmington. I’ve been able to work with children in a variety of settings and programs throughout the years and I’ve been lucky to teach around the area from ages birth through high school. I worked at Teeny Red back in 2013-15 and I’m so happy to be back to teach here! I look forward to meeting you and being able to foster your child’s learning and development
