I have been a member of the Little Red Team since 2012. I moved to Crested Butte in 2010 to teach skiing, after guiding and teaching kayaking for seven years on beautiful Lake Superior in the great Northwood’s of Wisconsin, followed by a season as a kayak guide in Portland, Oregon. But, since my first visit to Crested Butte in 2005, I was hooked and knew that my path would lead back to this very special mountain town. I have a degree in Outdoor Education emphasis in Therapy from Northland College in Ashland, Wisconsin and have always enjoyed working with and teaching children of all ages. I am delighted to be working with a variety of ages here at Little Red, they are all such a joy to be around. I look forward to coming to work each day to see what surprises the day holds for me and what your child will say or do next to make me smile!
Hi, I’m Jordyn! I started out my love for children early on as a nanny for two wonderful families in college. I went to school for Fine Arts in Denver, and after graduating and starting my own family, moved to Crested Butte to raise my daughter Cora. After sending my kiddo to Little Red Schoolhouse I found myself once again wanting to work with the little ones, and chose the very little ones at Teeny Red, where I have been ever since. I am continuing my early childhood education, and love learning!I truly enjoy nurturing babies and toddlers in a bright and fun learning environment and love each child as if they were my very own. I love watching these children grow and am excited to live in this wonderful small community where I can actually watch them grow even when they leave my care!
Hi! My name is Chloe Bowman and kids are my passion. I’m originally from Colorado Springs and I’ve been working with children over that past 5 years both privately and as a preschool teacher , and I adore it! Especially after moving to this valley and spending three years as a teachers’ aide in Gunnison, I realized that working with kids is both the most challenging and rewarding job any individual can embark on and I truly thrive at supporting and pursuing a role in the future of these children’s lives!
I joined Little Red back in May of 2017, after moving to Gunnison in January. I had previously visited Crested Butte and upon returning back to Missouri I decided I was going to make this beautiful place my home. Before making the move, I lived in Kansas City, Missouri where I rode horses during and after college. During college I was fortuante enough to not only attend one of the country’s most accredited equine schools, but to also compete for the school. I competed with other collegiates around the US, coached a high school girls FFA and 4H judging team, and led clubs such as art club and yoga club throughout my college career. All of this has brought me here, where I am excited to get to know and watch all young children grow and learn! I hope to bring life lessons, understanding, love and happiness to each of them.
I am so excited to be a part of the Little Red team! My family and I moved to Crested Butte from Littleton in June of 2018. We are originally from Pennsylvania but have lived in beautiful Colorado since 2007. I most recently taught 1st and 2nd graders before moving, and have been teaching children for 15 years. I started my teaching career with preschoolers and it is so fun to be working with this age again! I am looking forward to guiding the Seeds and watching them grow into Sprouts!
My love for working with children started when I got a job as a camp counselor at Star Lake Camp in Northern Minnesota. I stuck with it and eventually managed the camp for three summers. I eventually moved out to Gunnison, CO to get an Outdoor Education degree. During that time, I ran the after school program for Gunnison Parks and REc, and also worked as a teacher at Season’s Schoolhouse. When I graduated from Western, I went home for a while, and worked as a Paraprofessional at a public preschool. Of all the places I have lived, this valley has always felt like my true home. I am so excited to be back with this community teaching at Little Red Schoolhouse!
